Waterex has well proven in-house expertise and technology in the areas of hydrometallurgy and liquid/solids separation. Our expertise are realised in the following product groups.

Filters
Waterex designs, supplies and installs a diverse range of custom engineered filtration solutions for mining, industry and general applications. Waterex filters are extensively used in mining, water treatment/purification and process applications.

Pin Bed Clarifiers
The Waterex range of Pin Bed Clarifiers (PBC’s) are a series of clarifiers which combine high performance clarification with upflow filtration, the clarifier and filter all being installed in the one tank.

To realise reliable optimum performance, the efficient reduction in suspended solids load in the feed is best achieved by ensuring an effective reliable clarification stage is realised. To this end the Waterex range of Pin Bed Clarifiers comes in two basic layouts, unbaffled or open feedwell and baffled designs, the latter for high performance applications.

Membrane Filtration
As an original equipment manufacturer, Waterex is able to combine several different technologies and suppliers to provide a comprehensive suite of membrane and barrier technologies to fluid treatment applications.

Deionisers & Ion Exchange Equipment
Major features of the Electropure EDI modules sold by Waterex are:

Ultraviolet Sterilisers
Ultraviolet (UV) light treatment is a widely recognised and proven method of disinfection of water. It is a physical treatment, not chemical, so it does not alter the water chemistry. UV adds nothing to the water such as undesirable colour, odour, taste or flavour and does not generate harmful by-products.
A typical UV unit works by irradiating flowing water using UV lamps strategically placed within the treatment chamber. Although the water resides within the chamber for only a few seconds, it receives sufficient UV dosage to be lethal to micro-organisms present in the feed water.
A dosage of 30,000 microwatt-seconds per squared cm is more than sufficient to destroy most water-borne micro-organisms. UV treatment requires only a fraction of the contact time required by other disinfection methods.

Strainers
Kleerflo Automatic strainers.
 Kleerflo is a fully automatic backwashing filter/strainer that is used in a number of differing industries to remove suspended solids from water.

Thickeners
Waterex has been manufacturing bridge, compact and efficient thickeners for over 37 years. Today the company produces a wide range of bridge type Hirate, Deep Cone and Ultra-Hirate thickeners to suit most industrial and mining duties.
